New Construction Testing

All houses being built in Maine are legally required to follow IECC 2021 energy codes and MUBEC, regardless of whether your town enforces it. To comply with IECC 2021, I provide:

Blower Door Testing

I provide detailed blower door reports for code enforcement using the latest Retrotec testing equipment.

Mechanical Ventilation Standards

“Build Tight, Ventilate Right”.  Fresh air mechanical ventilation is required by code, but in order to know how often and how long to run it, you need a blower door test in order to follow ASHRAE standards.  We will test and calculate what you need!

Duct Tightness Testing

For homes built with forced hot air heating systems, the energy code requires duct tightness testing.  We use the latest Retrotec duct blaster equipment and reporting software to provide a detailed report for code enforcement.

Air Tightness / Smoke Testing

As a builder, how confident are you that you’ve built a tight house?  We put it to the test, using a blower door, smoke testing, and infrared thermography; these tests will show you exactly where the air leakage is coming from!  Here is an example of using smoke testing and a blower door to check for air leakage:
